Katherine Bussard

Katherine Bussard loves the Lord and strives to honor Him with her life. After completing her Bachelor of Arts at Thomas Edison State University, where she studied English and history, she continued her education studying theology and graduating from Foundations South Bible Institute.

Passionate about Gospel and worldview discipleship, she served as an administrator and instructor in private Christian education for 14 years, writing a book on accelerated distance learning and speaking at national education conferences. While working in education, Katherine also pursued her passion as an entrepreneurial artist and small business owner and became increasingly involved in public service and community outreach. 

Because local government most directly impacts citizens, Katherine is passionate about public service at the local level. She served for four years as a councilwoman and was later elected as mayor. Working as a governmental consultant, Katherine coordinated statewide campaigns, and advised local municipalities and counties on public policy and strategic planning.  She later accepted a position in economic development, working as a Downtown Development Director, and currently continues to serve her community as a School Board member.

As Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Salt & Light Global, Katherine works to disciple servant-leaders in all walks of life, equipping them to share the redemptive love and truth of Jesus. She facilitates training in good governance for communities around the state, mentors other Christian women in leadership, and champions sound public policy. In speaking, writing, and serving, Katherine seeks to encourage the body of Christ to see all of who they are what they do through God’s Word. Katherine resides with her husband and partner in Kingdom service, Jeff.
